Sedation Dentistry

Are You Avoiding Dental Care Due To Fear? Did you know there are alternatives to help you relax? Dr. Burrows, Dr. Bevans and the Abby Dental Care team offer sedation options to help patients who have anxieties and fears about their dental appointments.

Oral Sedation allows our patients, who would otherwise elect not to see Dr. Burrows or Dr. Bevans the chance to have their work completed just by taking a small pill. The stress that occurred with past appointments can now be eliminated.

As well, oral sedation allows you to relax through your dental visit. Safe and effective, oral sedation may be used to minimize fear and anxiety and allow you to acquire the dental treatment that you need or desire. Our aim is to completely relax our patients while they are in our office, as your dental visit should be a restorative time for mind, body and spirit. If you don’t feel comfortable during treatment, talk to us about ways to help you relax. Modern preventive techniques, advances in anesthesia and many new relaxation techniques allow our patients to leave our office feeling better than when they arrived!

Dr. Burrows and Dr. Bevans also offer Nitrous Oxide, which is a safe and effective sedative agent that is mixed with oxygen and inhaled through a small mask that fits over your nose to help you relax. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called “laughing gas,” is one option we offer to help make you more comfortable during your dental procedures.

Dr. Burrows and Dr. Bevans are happy to listen to your concerns without judgment and make you feel welcome and comfortable. You are invited to arrange a consultation with Dr. Burrows or Dr. Bevans to determine if oral sedation is right for you. Oral sedation is safe and effective and is taken orally about an hour before your appointment. It is important to make arrangements for transportation with a friend or family member driving you to and from your appointment. Drift off to sleep and wake to a beautiful new smile, or just get the treatment that you’ve always needed. As well, you can have several treatments completed in just one appointment!
