Shannon Hygienist

Shannon is one of our two resident lefties at Abby Dental Care. Yes, we have two!

 

Shannon completed Dental Hygiene College in Vancouver in 2012 and moved to Vernon shortly after completion. Passionate about dentistry and people, Shannon is always happy to help you with all your dental needs.

 

A nature lover that loves to spend her spare time outdoors, Shannon also loves to cook and enjoy our amazing Okanagan wine!

 

In the winter you will find Shannon at Silver Star Mountain, but not if the Green Bay Packers are playing; if the Pack is playing Shannon will be at home cheering them on!

 

Shannon is currently on maternity leave.

 

 

Lauren Hygienist

Lauren grew up in Abbotsford, and graduated from the Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene in 2013. Lauren has spent most of the past 3 years living and working in Edmonton. Lauren is now excited and happy to be settling in the okanagan with her Fiancé, and having family much closer.

 

In her free time, Lauren enjoys hiking with her dog, golfing, spending time on the water & relaxing with friends.

Shelby Hygienist

Shelby was born and raised in Vernon, and graduated from the Camosun College Dental Hygiene Program in June 2020. She is excited to be back in the Okanagan and looks forward to her future in the profession!

 

Shelby loves quality time with friends and family, a good exercise class, and the hot Okanagan summer!

 

 

Jenna Hygienist

Jenna grew up in the Okanagan and graduated from Vancouver Island Univeristy in 2019.

 

Jenna enjoys spending her free time with friends and family. She also enjoys taking part in outdoor activities, especially hiking, camping and walks with her dog.

 

Jenna is passionate at providing and sharing knowledge with each patient based on their individual needs.

 

 

Kim Dental Assistant

Kim grew up in Vernon and graduated from Okanagan College’s dental assisting program in June 2020. Kim hopes to continue her career in dentistry by attending hygiene or dental school in the future.

Kim loves  travelling, and doing anything outdoors.

Taylor Dental Assistant

Taylor is one of our incredible dental assistants. She returned to us from mat-leave a few months ago and we’re so glad to have her back! Taylor lights up our office with her smile and great sense of humour.

 

Taylor grew up in Nelson B.C. and graduated as a dental assistant from The College of the Rockies, in Cranbrook. Her weekends are dedicated to her family, and adventuring. Taylor is also currently on maternity leave.

Jenn Dental Assistant

Jenn moved here from Red Deer in 2013 and graduated from the CDA program at Okanagan College shortly after. Jenn loves the outdoors, making the okanagan a perfect place to live; from rock climbing/bouldering, hiking, and cliff jumping in the summer, to snowboarding, skating and snuggling up by the fire with a good book in the winter.

 

Jenn is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and skills in general dentistry at Abby Dental.

 

 

Alvina Dental Assistant

Alvina moved from northern Alberta, to the beautiful Okanagan 4 years ago and graduated from the Okanagan College’s dental assistant program in the spring of 2020.

 

Alvina enjoys hiking, houseplants, snowboarding and camping.

 

 

Alyssa Reception

Alyssa is one of the first smiling faces you’ll see when you come to visit everyone here at Abby Dental Care.

 

Alyssa moved to beautiful Okanagan 3 years ago, where she graduated the Dental Administrative Program at the Vernon Okanagan College. Alyssa has been passionate about the dental industry for a few years now and loves her ever-growing position with Abby Dental Care!

 

Alyssa works with our patients helping them to understand their treatment plans and how their investments in their oral health will be of benefit to them.

 

On weekends you’ll catch Alyssa hiking with her dog Jasper, relaxing on Kalamalka Lake or snowboarding at Silver Star Mountain!

 

 

Corinne Reception

Corinne has been part of our Dental Administration team since January of 2017. Along with her many administrative duties, Corinne is very dedicated to assisting patients with their dental appointments, insurance needs and helps to address any questions or concerns to ensure our patients have a pleasant experience.

 

Corinne brings with her a love of health care and 20 years experience as a Dental Assistant in various types of dental offices, including Orthodontic practices, hospital settings and various administrative roles.

 

Corinne enjoys quiet time with her 3 children and can often be found outdoors doing various activities in all 4 of the beautiful seasons the Okanagan has to offer. Corinne also keeps herself busy volunteering in the community.

Tia Reception

Tia is one of the wonderful front desk/receptionists here at Abby Dental Care. Tia graduated from Okanagan College with a certificate in Nursing Administration in 2018.

 

Tia was born in Enderby which is located 30 minutes north of Vernon.

 

Tia loves boating, swimming, hiking, camping, and most of the outdoor activities that the Okanagan Valley has to offer.
